Merry Christmas 2007
These ten images were scanned from Pat’s old Schenectady postcard collection.
From top to bottom, left to right the postcards depict the following Schenectady Churches.
St. John’s Church
Trinity Methodist Church
Bellevue Reformed Church
First Reformed Church
Hope Chapel *
St. Mary’s Catholic Church
Cobble Stone Church
First Baptist Church
Presbyterian Church
St. George’s Episcopal Church
* Hope Chapel is long gone having been demolished many years ago. But we don’t know when, why or even where it was in the city.
May the spirit of Christmas bring you peace,
The gladness of Christmas bring you hope,
and The warmth of Christmas grant you love.

I took the Christmas card on thumb drive (pdf format) to A1 Printing on Erie Blvd in Schenectady and had them print it on lovely linen card stock.
It came out nicely and I’m pleased to say that I’m thrilled about it.
While its not perfect, I believe it shows our Schenectady the way it should be shown during the Christmas holiday season.
Peace on earth, good will to all.
Thank you for this AWESOME website! I am working on a manuscript that takes place in Schenectady NY at the turn-of-the-century and your postcard scans are most helpful! Strangely enough, it has been VERY difficult to find any information online about Schenectady during the latter part of the 19th century. Thank you again!
