The old Cotton Factory Hollow Bridge connects Hulett Street in the Hamilton Hill section of Schenectady to Francis Avenue in Mont Pleasant. There’s a new bridge there, well, maybe built in the early 1970′s. I’ll try to find out.
It used to be called (when I was a kid) suicide bridge. I don’t even know if anyone ever committed suicide by jumping off it but when I was a kid, it was scary.
The old bridge was removed, and construction of the new one began, in 1980. The new one has been a suicide site.
